Alvin Tan
Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade & Industry; Board Member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore

Mr. Tan was elected as a Member of Parliament in 2020, and appointed Minister of State for both the Ministry of Trade & Industry (MTI), and the Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth (MCCY). He is also a Board Member at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

At MTI, he is involved in growing Singapore’s economy, focusing on the tourism, tech start-up, agri-food tech and advanced manufacturing sectors, and securing free trade agreements with Latin America. At MCCY, he is working on empowering youths, promoting mental well-being and mentoring, strengthening racial and religious harmony and supporting Singapore’s sports, arts and culture sectors. At MAS, he is helping develop Singapore’s financial sector, including as a fintech, green finance and digital assets hub.

Before leaving the private sector to join politics, Mr. Tan worked in finance and tech at companies such as Goldman Sachs, Facebook and LinkedIn. He has also worked in the United Nations and Oxfam, and in New York, Hong Kong, Sydney, and San Francisco. He has also served in the Singapore Armed Forces as an armour officer, and the Ministry of Defence in diplomacy, research and counter-terrorism roles.

Mr. Tan has degrees in Economics from Sydney University and Harvard University, and was an International and Global Affairs Fellow at Harvard’s Belfer Centre of Science and International Affairs.

Dr Salman Ahmed
Global Head of Macro and Strategic Asset Allocation, Fidelity International

Salman Ahmed joined Fidelity in August 2020 as Global Head of Macro and Strategic Asset Allocation and is based in London. Previously, he was co-chair of Global Investment Committee and Chief Investment Strategist at Lombard Odier IM (LOIM).

Before spending nearly 8 years with LOIM, Salman was head of Global Macro at EDF trading between 2009 and 2012. He also spent nearly 5 years with Goldman Sachs International as a global economist within the global macro team. He began his career in finance with Watson Wyatt (now Towers Willis Watson) in 2001.

Salman holds a PhD and MPhil in Economics & Finance from University of Cambridge. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan, in 1999.

Marko Papic
Author of Geopolitical Alpha, Macro-Geopolitical Chief Strategist, BCA Research

Marko is a macro and geopolitical expert at BCA Research, a global investment research firm. He provides in-depth analysis that combines geopolitics and markets in a framework called GeoMacro. He is also the author of Geopolitical Alpha: An Investment Framework for Predicting the Future.

At BCA, Marko leads the firm’s premier service, BCA Access, that allows clients to unlock access to custom research and the vast expert network that BCA has cultivated over its 76 year history.

Previously, Marko was a partner at an alternative asset management firm in California where he provided his investors and clients with controversial market calls, bold views, and around-the-clock research. He helped seed global macro hedge funds and curate several funds, across public and private markets. His work on incorporating geopolitics into the asset management industry has become part of the CAIA curriculum.

Born in Belgrade, Serbia, he has lived in Iraq, Jordan, Switzerland, Canada, and the U.S. He has lectured at the top universities and you’ll frequently see him in global news media.

Mark Tan
Managing Director and Head, Macro Research, Economics & Investment Strategy, GIC Private Limited

Mark Tan is a Managing Director and Head of Macro Research in the Economics and Investment Strategy department at GIC. He has been with the firm since 2014 and leads the team’s macro research efforts; informing on total portfolio asset allocation and strategy.

Before joining GIC, Mark was with Goldman Sachs for a period spanning a decade working across macro and strategy functions in the Hong Kong, Singapore and New York offices.

Jean-Jacques Barbéris
Director of the Institutional and Corporate Clients division & ESG, Amundi

Before joining Amundi in 2016, Jean-Jacques served the President of the French Republic since 2013 where he was Economic and Financial Affairs Advisor. Prior to that, he was a member of the cabinet of Pierre Moscovici, Minister of the Economy and Finance, responsible for aspects of financing the economy. Jean-Jacques began his career in the French Directorate General of the Treasury where he served from 2008 to 2012. Jean-Jacques is a graduate from the École Nationale Supérieure des Lettres et Sciences Humaines, in Paris and has an advanced degree in History. He also an alumni from the Institut d’Études Politiques (Paris) and the French National School of Administration (ENA).

Jean-Jacques Barbéris also oversees Amundi’s activities in the Middle East and the Nordics.

Philippe El-Asmar
Managing Director, Head of ETF, Direct & Digital, Asia Pacific, J.P. Morgan Asset Management

Philippe El-Asmar, Managing Director, is Head of ETF, Direct & Digital, Asia Pacific for J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Based in Hong Kong, he oversees the distribution, development and management of the ETF business and client franchise in Asia Pacific. He is also a member of the Asset Management Asia Pacific Operating Committee.

Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2017, Mr. El-Asmar was CEO and Co-Founder of Amareos, a news analytics FinTech that evaluates market sentiment, produces research and consulting services. He was also a lecturer at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and The University of Hong Kong on Finance and FinTech.

Mr. El-Asmar previously spent 10 years at Barclays where he held a variety of senior positions. He served as Global Head of Equities Distribution and Head of Distribution, Asia Pacific in Hong Kong, managing a team of 800 sales professionals globally, and as Global Head of Investor Solutions in New York.

Mr. El-Asmar was also a member of the Equities Executive Committee, Asia Pacific Executive Committee, Global Markets Management Committee and Senior Leadership Committee.

In addition, he was a pioneer of the Exchange Traded Notes industry, having created the iPathETN in 2006.

Before joining Barclays, Mr. El-Asmar spent seven years at Société Générale where he was the Head of Structured Investments Sales and Head of Structuring in New York and Head of Equity Structuring in Tokyo.

Mr. El-Asmar is multilingual and graduated from ESSEC in France.

Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn
Chief Executive Officer, Employees Provident Fund

Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn is Chief Executive Officer of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), the largest Malaysian retirement fund. He was previously Group Chief Executive of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), the largest asset management company in Malaysia.

Prior to PNB, he was Deputy Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund, where he held various positions including Head of Strategy, Head of the Strategic Fund, and Head of the Financial Institutions Group. Zulqarnain was the founding Chief Executive Officer of a financial guarantee insurer which provided credit enhancement and structuring for large infrastructure projects.

He has had various roles in institutions leading debt restructuring and resolutions in the aftermath of the Asian financial crisis and at investment banks. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University.

Wong De Rui
Senior Vice President, Sustainability Office, GIC Private Limited

De Rui is Senior Vice President of the Sustainability Office at GIC, Singapore's sovereign wealth fund managing over US$100bn in assets.

He leads research on sustainability-related themes such as climate change, nature, supply chains, and inequality that will have material impact on GIC’s investment portfolio. These issues are often overlooked by investors because they take time to manifest, and their impact is difficult to quantity. By collaborating with industry partners, peers, academic thought leaders, and GIC's investment teams, De Rui develops investment integration tools, analytics, and strategies for GIC to be future-ready for these long-term trends.

Effective communication is key in bringing investors on their sustainability journey. De Rui leverages his past experience as a macro strategist and equity analyst to translate complex sustainability concepts into insights that investors understand. In recognition of his passion and expertise in advocating for sustainable investing, he was awarded AsianInvestor's Top 10 Sovereign Wealth Fund Executives in Asia for 2024.

Since 2021, De Rui chaired the Paris-aligned Investment Working Group in the Asia Investor Group for Climate Change (AIGCC) which advances solutions for addressing climate risk and opportunities in investment portfolios for asset managers and asset owners.  He was also recently appointed to its Board Committee in Dec 2024.

De Rui graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics.

Viola Tang
Senior Vice President, Sustainability Office, GIC Private Limited

Viola leads a team on sustainable investment strategy and integration for GIC, a leading global investment firm. Her research areas include climate solutions, decarbonisation pathways, transition finance and carbon markets. She began her career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley where she covered power, utilities and infrastructure and completed over USD 80Bn of M&A and capital markets transactions. Subsequently Viola was an Investment Analyst at Victoire, a multi-strategy hedge fund, managing its Emerging Asia Small- and Mid-cap strategy. Prior to GIC, Viola focused on energy transition fund strategy, corporate M&A and new market expansion at Fullerton Fund Management.

Viola holds dual Bachelors in Business Administration and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a PhD candidate in Sustainable Finance at Oxford University. In her spare time she can be found playing netball, gardening or spending time with her dog Wonton.

Pierre-Julien Jandrain
Head of Investment Risk and Performance, Singapore, Eastspring Investments

Pierre-Julien (PJ) Jandrain is Head of Investment Risk and Performance (effective as of 1 April 2025), responsible for overseeing investment risk management and performance analytics across all investment strategies.

PJ joined Eastspring in October 2022, initially focusing on enhancing the portfolio construction process by providing portfolio risk insights and guidance to the investment teams under the CIO umbrella. He later expanded his role under the CRO umbrella.

With 20 years of experience in the investment industry, PJ spent nearly 7 years at Pimco (primarily in Singapore) overseeing portfolio risk for the Asia Pacific region from 2015 to 2021. Before 2015, he held various investment risk and performance analytics roles at Invesco, Lombard Odier, and Amundi, based in London, Geneva, and Paris.

PJ holds an MSc from ENIB Engineering School and an MBA from IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School. PJ is a CFA charterholder.

Dr. Mark Konyn
Group Chief Investment Officer, AIA Group

Dr. Mark Konyn is the Group Chief Investment Officer responsible for providing oversight of the management of the investment portfolios of the Group as well as supervising and supporting the many investment professionals throughout the Group. He is a director of various companies within the Group including Chairman of AIA Investment Management Private Limited and AIA Investment Management HK Limited. He joined the Group in September 2015.

Dr. Konyn joined AIA from Cathay Conning Asset Management, where he was Chief Executive Officer responsible for the company’s investment business and strategic expansion in the region. He had held senior positions at Allianz Global Investors (where he was Asia-Pacific CEO for RCM Global Investors), Fidelity Investments and Prudential UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, and holds a Diploma from the London Business School in Investment Management, having previously completed his Ph.D. in Operational Research sponsored by the UK Government.

Jayne Bok
Head of Investments, Asia, WTW

Jayne Bok is the Head of Investments, Asia, based in Hong Kong. She is responsible for leading WTW’s Investments business strategy, client delivery and business development across Asia.

Jayne leads a diverse regional team to help clients meet their goals and achieve better outcomes through a flexible range of delivery models – from providing proprietary tools, offering advisory services, through to assisting clients with implementation via delegated solutions. She has more than 25 years of industry and leadership experience.

Prior to her current role, she was Head of Sovereign Advisory, covering government funds, SWFs, central banks and other state-owned investment entities across Asia. Before moving to Hong Kong in 2013, Jayne spent nine years in Korea where she successfully built the local investment consultancy.

Jayne started her career at WTW in Korea as a Talent consultant in the Work & Rewards segment before she transferred to the Hong Kong Investments’ practice in 2004.

Jayne also chairs the Board of Director at the CAIA Association. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Yonsei University in Korea, and has a Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations.

Neil Walton
Head of OCIO and Specialist Solutions, Schroders

Neil Walton serves as the Head of OCIO and Specialist Solutions for Schroder Solutions, where he leads a team responsible for designing and implementing a diverse range of solutions that encompass investment strategy, risk management, portfolio construction, OCIO, and fiduciary management. He is a key member of the Conflicts Committee, the Schroder Solutions Management team, and the Product Development Committee, a role he held from 2010 to 2019. Additionally, he is a Director of the Schroders Luxembourg fund range. Neil joined Schroders in 2005 and is based in London.

Prior to his current position, Neil was the Head of the UK Business Development Group at Schroders from 2012 to 2016. In this role, he oversaw the UK institutional business strategy, managed consultant relations, and focused on the development of client solutions. From 2005 to 2012, he served as the Head of Strategic Solutions, where he was instrumental in pioneering a suite of diversified multi-asset strategies and liability hedging capabilities within the firm.

Neil is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and holds the Actuarial Certificate in Derivatives. He earned his BSc in Actuarial Science from The City University.

Pedro Moura
Head of Asia Solutions, Schroders

Based in Singapore since 2021, Pedro set up and leads the Asia Solutions team, which is responsible for delivering the global capabilities of the Schroders Solutions team to clients in the region.

Prior to his current role, Pedro was responsible for designing and delivering risk management solutions to clients in Europe and Asia, leading a team of four investment professionals based in London. He joined Schroders in 2013 after spending eight years at Barclays Capital.

During his time at Barclays, from 2010 to 2013, he served as a Director in Equity and Fund Derivatives, where he focused on developing investment and hedging solutions for institutional clients in Europe and the Middle East. Before that, from 2008 to 2010, Pedro held the position of Vice President in the Sovereign Wealth Funds team, coordinating coverage across Investment Banking and Asset Management for Sovereign Wealth Funds globally. He began his career at Barclays as an Associate in the Hybrid Capital Structuring Team, focusing on European Financial Institutions.

Pedro holds an MBA from IESE Business School and an undergraduate degree in Engineering from Lisbon Technical University.

Sylvia Chen
Head of ESG, South Asia, Amundi

Sylvia Chen is the Head of ESG for South Asia at Amundi, based in Singapore. She reports to Caroline Le Meaux, the Global Head of ESG Research, Engagement and Voting. Sylvia contributes to ESG research and engagement across a wide array of topics, including energy transition, sustainable investing, and green and social bonds. She plays a key role in developing green and transition taxonomies for Singapore, as well as leading regional investor engagement initiatives. In particular, she supports investment teams and clients by facilitating ESG knowledge transfer and ensuring the full integration of ESG and climate capabilities into investment frameworks.

Before joining Amundi in 2021, Sylvia worked at BNP Paribas and Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation (OCBC) in fixed income capital markets, where she was instrumental in establishing OCBC’s sustainability bond framework. She holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from the University of British Columbia.

Dr Daryle Lee
Chief Data Officer, BlueOnion

Chief Data Officer at BlueOnion, an award-winning FinTech company proudly based in Hong Kong, is dedicated to democratizing access to ESG and sustainability data. This initiative empowers small and mid-sized asset managers and banks with affordable and accessible insights into sustainability.

Dr. Lee has extensive experience developing business and sustainability strategies across Hong Kong and Australia. He is skilled in creating long-term transition scenarios for investment portfolios and has a strong background in carbon emissions modeling. His expertise includes scenario planning, risk assessment, and capital expenditure allocation for power system projects.

Maurits van Joolingen
Managing Director, Climate Scenarios & Sustainability, Ortec Finance

As Ortec Finance’s Managing Director of the Climate Scenarios & Sustainability team, Maurits is responsible for the development and expansion of ClimateMAPS, Ortec Finance’s top-down climate scenario analysis solution, developed in exclusive partnership with Cambridge Econometrics to support the risk management needs of financial institutions. Since joining Ortec Finance in 2008, Maurits has partnered with large institutional investors around the world, supporting them with their risk modelling and development of investment policies and strategy using Ortec Finance’s asset liability management and performance measurement technologies. He has worked closely with leading global financial institutions, to develop machine learning optimization algorithms, as well as with CalPERS, the California-based pension and health benefit agency, to create a liquidity forecast model for its total portfolio.

Maurits holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master of Science in Finance from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and is an accredited Financial Risk Manager from the Global Risk Management, Inc.

Lawrence Ang
Managing Partner, Climate Smart Ventures

Lawrence is Founder and Managing Partner of Climate Smart Ventures, a transaction advisory based in Singapore specializing in delivering capital market solutions that retire fossil fuel-fired plants and replace them with renewables in the context of a rapidly growing Asia. In this role, Lawrence and his team have served as lead advisors to a number of market-leading decarbonization deals and engagements including ACEN’s Energy Transition Mechanism, the development of the GFANZ Guidelines for Financing the Managed Phase Out of Coal Fired Power Plants in Asia, and feasibility assessments for the ADB’s Energy Transition Mechanism for the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Prior to this role, Lawrence was Director for Asia at a US-based impact investing advisory for which he was a recipient of the US State Department's P3 award for his work in driving public-private partnerships and blended finance for sustainable fisheries. Lawrence completed his EMBA from the Asian Institute of Management, and has diplomas on Behavioral Finance from Yale University, and Experimental Design for Business Innovation from the Stockholm School of Economics. He finished his undergraduate studies with a specialization in natural resources management from the Australian National University.

Kevin Bong
Board Director, Pacific Pension & Investment Institute

Kevin is a Board Director of the Pacific Pension & Investment Institute (PPI), a Co-opted Investment Committee Member for the National University of Singapore (NUS) Board of Trustees, an Investment Committee member for the Tote Board, and a Resource Member for the Investment Committee of the Singapore Labour Foundation. He was most recently Executive Managing Director, and the Chief Investment Strategist and Head of Singapore for Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). He led the Total Fund Investment Strategy department in articulating and driving AIMCo’s total portfolio and total fund strategy, execution and management, as well as AIMCo’s approach to sustainability and sustainable investing. Kevin also led AIMCo’s geographic expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. He was the Global Cross-Asset Investment member of the four-person Executive Investment Office, alongside the Global Head of Public Markets, the Global Head of Private Markets, and the Chief Executive Officer. Kevin was also a voting member of the Tactical Risk Allocation Committee, and the Management Investment Committee.

Kevin was formerly Managing Director and Director of the Economics & Investment Strategy department of GIC, where he articulated GIC’s strategic outlook, determined asset exposures and benchmarks, and optimized capital allocation for the entire GIC Portfolio. Kevin previously managed the External Public Investments & Credit portfolio at OPTrust in Toronto, where he and his team pioneered the allocation to multi-asset funds and hedge funds, and advanced the transformation of the Trust’s investment policies and portfolio. Earlier in his career, Kevin was Vice President and Portfolio Manager in GIC’s External Managers department in New York overseeing North American equity funds and hedge funds. Before that, he had been Vice President in GIC’s Investment Policy & Strategy department in Singapore analyzing asset classes and strategies, refining optimization techniques, and advising the government on its long-term investment goals and risks.

Kevin holds degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and in Management Science (Finance) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a Stanford Executive Program (SEP) alumnus, and is also a CFA charter holder.

Shaun Tan
Head of Portfolio Intelligence, Asia, Investment Solutions, Mercer

Shaun Tan is the Head of Portfolio Intelligence Asia within Investment Solutions. He focuses on investment risk management of discretionary client assets, alternative funds and multi-asset class funds. He interacts with large clients by providing insights on their portfolios and aiding in their portfolio construction process.

He joined the Mercer London office as an investment consultant, advising on a range of areas including strategic asset allocation, cashflow matching, liability driven investments and investment manager selection. In 2015, he joined Investment Solutions, specialising in investment risk management where he chaired various Investment Risk Management Committees. He relocated to Singapore in 2022.

Shaun is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and is a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary. He graduated from the London School of Economics with a First Class degree in Actuarial Science. He graduated from the University of Kent with a MSc in Applied Actuarial Science.

Jerry Chee
Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income, Credit-Focused Solutions, Eastspring Investments

Jerry Chee leads a research team whose main objective is to scale the alpha process for the Active Equities and Fixed Income teams. This team utilises both Fundamental and Quantitative techniques, and leverages Technology as a multiplier for the purpose of idea generation and portfolio construction.

Prior to joining Eastspring in 2022, Jerry was at GIC Pte Ltd, where he developed non-traditional analytics atop a multi-asset class risk model, and supported the CRO in risk advising total portfolio strategies and hedges, in addition to modeling climate impact and mitigation across public and private Equities.

Earlier to that, Jerry was with Temasek International where he led primary research on topics such as Equity and illiquidity Risk Premium, behavioural biases and private markets performance benchmarking.

In both roles, he was responsible for translating data assets into scalable inputs to investment decision-making for both investment professionals and senior leaders.

Jerry holds a BBM (Quantitative Finance) from Singapore Management University.

Jenny Sofian
Chairman of IMAS and Chief Executive Officer of Fullerton Fund Management

Jenny Sofian is the Chairman of IMAS Executive Committee and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fullerton Fund Management. As CEO, she is responsible for the strategic development and management of the firm.​

With over two decades of experience in the asset management industry, Jenny has held various leadership roles, including her previous position as CEO and Head of South Asia at Amundi Singapore. There, she oversaw the company's Southeast Asian and Australian operations and served as the Regional Director of Southeast Asia at the Group Level Executive Committee. Jenny’s career started in managing insurance funds for the Insurance Corporation of Singapore.

Her active involvement in industry bodies has positively influenced and shaped the asset management industry. As a member of the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Financial Centre Advisory Panel, she is dedicated to advancing the industry. Jenny also serves as a director of The Institute of Banking and Finance and was conferred the IBF Fellow award in 2020. In addition, she sits on the advisory board of the Singapore Green Finance Centre, reflecting her commitment to sustainability and the environment.

Jenny's achievements have been recognised with numerous awards and accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement Award by Asia Asset Management and IBF Distinguished Fellow by The Institute of Banking and Finance Singapore.

She earned her BS in Business Administration with a major in Finance from San Diego University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Sabrina Gan
Chairperson, IMAS Conference Organizing Committee, and MD & Head of Third Party Wealth (Asia Pacific ex-Japan), Goldman Sachs Asset Management

Sabrina Gan is MD & Head of Third Party Wealth (Asia Pacific ex-Japan), Goldman Sachs Asset Management and has more than 20 years of experience working in the asset management industry and financial sector. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Sabrina served as the Head of Southeast Asia and Country Head of Singapore for Fidelity International. Based in Singapore, she was responsible for over seeing of all of Fidelity’s distribution activities in the region and delivering continued growth across client channels for Fidelity’s business Southeast Asia. Before joining Fidelity, Sabrina headed Retail Distribution for BlackRock in Singapore and also spent more than nine years with Schroders where she was responsible for the distribution of Mutual Funds in Singapore, including business development and development of sales and product strategies. Sabrina was also previously at Ernst & Young with a focus on Corporate Finance and Audit.

Sabrina holds a Bachelor Degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She is also a CFA and CAIA Charter holder.
