Post pandemic, supply-chain disruptions, the unwinding of central bank balance sheets and geopolitical tensions have resulted in the reduction of cheap capital, unprecedented market dislocation and higher correlation between asset classes. Panel experts will opine on the investment playbook for the late-market economic cycle especially with regards to the re-allocation of capital in potentially a recessionary environment. The panel will further debate the merits of traditional versus alternative assets classes and provide valuable insights on the outlook for global and Asian markets in the coming year. Key speakers will further analyse the impact of de-globalization on capital markets and how investment strategies could be redefined by continued uncertain US-China relations.

Masterclass 1 - ESG: Charting Possible Paths to Net Zero (Part 1)
As supply shocks and geopolitical friction fuel volatility in commodities markets, the world remains relentless in charting possible paths towards net zero. This thematic workshop covers the tools and strategies that investors could draw on to contribute to net zero transition in the real economy and improve the resilience of their portfolio to climate change. These include transition risk integration, company engagement, scaling up transition finance, positioning for green opportunities, stranded asset exclusions, low carbon indices, to possible use of carbon offsets. It also discusses reputational and regulatory risks given heightened scrutiny over private sectors' net zero commitments.
This masterclass will cover pertinent issues that will help business leaders struggling with (i) how you can commit to a net zero for your investment portfolio, what investment and communication strategies you can adopt to avoid accusations of greenwashing, (ii) what strategies you can adopt to convince your Board to incorporate sustainability considerations into the investment process and (iii) figure out the training you would recommend for your Board members in order to be effective in governing sustainability related issues in the investment organization.
It will also help portfolio managers understand why and how to incorporate sustainability considerations into the investment decision making process, work out why time horizon over which you manage your portfolio matter, and the tools, research and resources you will need to integrate climate change consideration into your investment process.

Masterclass 2 - Lifting the veil on Private Assets: A fundamentals and practitioner’s perspective (Part 1)
Institutional investors continue to increase their allocation to private market assets and seek out new investment routes and opportunities. Fuelled by a desire to diversify away from public market investments, lured by illiquidity premium potential, alongside safe harbour protection from rising interest rates and increasing inflation, appetite for private asset investment has never been greater. Additionally, the increased influence and possibilities for customisation of ESG considerations present a strong pull to investors keen to build tangible paths towards their ESG goals.
Participants will come away with a solid understanding of the fundamentals and reasons for private assets investing. There will be two interactive private equity case studies by Fullerton’s Alternatives team which will illustrate how private equity due diligence is executed. Seasoned industry experts from Blackstone, KKR, and Asia Partners will also be sharing the nuances between Private Credit, Private Equity, and Venture Growth, expanding further on how they are differentiated.
