Playbook for late-market cycles

Post pandemic, supply-chain disruptions, the unwinding of central bank balance sheets and geopolitical tensions have resulted in the reduction of cheap capital, unprecedented market dislocation and higher correlation between asset classes. Panel experts will opine on the investment playbook for the late-market economic cycle especially with regards to the re-allocation of capital in potentially a recessionary environment. The panel will further debate the merits of traditional versus alternative assets classes and provide valuable insights on the outlook for global and Asian markets in the coming year.  Key speakers will further analyse the impact of de-globalization on capital markets and how investment strategies could be redefined by continued uncertain US-China relations.

  • Nitin Jaiswal, Head of Government Affairs & External Relations, Asia Pacific, Bloomberg L.P.

  • Liew Tzu Mi, Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income, GIC Pte Ltd
  • Natalia Novikova, Resident Representative in Singapore, International Monetary Fund

Masterclass 1, 2 & 3

Masterclass 1: ESG: Charting Possible Paths to Net Zero

As supply shocks and geopolitical friction fuel volatility in commodities markets, the world remains committed to chart a path towards net zero.  This is a thematic workshop covering the tools and strategies that investors have to contribute to net zero transition in the real economy.  This includes a broad range including transition risk integration, company engagement, scaling up transition finance, positioning for green opportunities, stranded asset exclusions, low carbon indices, and possible use of carbon offsets.  It also discusses reputation and regulatory risks given heightened scrutiny over private sectors' net zero commitments.

  • Rachel Teo, Managing Director, Head of Sustainability & Head of Total Portfolio Sustainable Investing, GIC Pte Ltd

Masterclass 2: Leadership and the Human Capital Factor

Masterclass 3: Putting Risk at the Heart of Decision Making in Volatile times

As investors around the world grapple with unprecedented levels of market uncertainty, Risk has moved front and centre into the decision making process.
