Key Duties and Responsibilities

The person in this role will support IMAS’ push towards industry transformation, supporting IMAS’ initiatives to grow and maintain Singapore’s strategic leadership as an asset management industry hub in Asia.

  • Conduct market research, analysis of industry data and to support the facilitation of industry development initiatives and engagement with regulators.

  • Conducts and executes strategies relating to research on digitization of the industry, fintechs and start-ups amongst others.

  • Facilitate industry responses to regulatory consultations, which includes reviewing regulatory policychanges, preparing responses, and seeking clarification with all stakeholders, including the regulators.

  • Support the implementation of strategic industry development programs.

  • The candidate will manage multiple projects that will have a transformative impact on the investments industry as well as IMAS internal processes. Examples of projects could include development of a digital gamification app for broad-based investment education; support the IMAS Digital Programmes Office; readying the industry for the introduction of Global Investment Performance Standards 2020; developing best practices and codes of conduct around Environmentally Sustainable Investing; creating opportunities for investment case competitions & research collaboration with universities; revamping, consolidating & integrating communication sites and mobile apps; as well as electronizing industry corporate directories, annual reports etc.

  • The candidate is also involved in the IMAS-Bloomberg Annual Conference, which is a platform for discussing key strategic concerns of the asset management industry.

  • This role is a multi-faceted one which will give the candidate significant exposure to the fund management, banking, accounting, legal and regulatory sectors. It would suit someone who is creative, innovative, likes to keep abreast of the industry, organizing events, meeting people, and is IT- and accounting-savvy.

  • The candidate shall have the opportunity to manage all events organised by the Association, interact with senior representatives from over 100 fund houses which are IMAS members, as well as manage IMAS internal systems.

  • The Candidate is part of the IMAS Secretariat office and is also expected to perform the usual Secretariat duties (e.g. design of IMAS brochures, annual report, support marketing and communications activities, minute-taking to IMAS’ committees and manage logistical planning and online support of meetings of sub-committee/working groups or related events where necessary).

This role will allow the Analyst to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders as well as with external service providers.

Job Qualifications and Prerequisite

  • Up to 5 years of working experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably, in marketing communications, computer science or finance.

  • Strong business writing and communications skills. Bilingual fluency in English and Chinese.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, and MS Outlook.

  • Strong entrepreneurial slant, creative, deadline-driven, highly motivated, positive, and self-starter.

  • Good interpersonal skills and strong IT skills.

  • Ability to program, code, and maintain websites, mobile applications, and databases is very useful.
