In partnership with ReedSmith and our venue sponsor SGX, IMAS successfully concluded our 10th Regulatory Forum with more than 160 participants this year. The Forum discussed the latest regulatory changes impacting the investment management industry, touching on the latest guidelines on fair dealing, AML and CFT measures, technology risk management, and ESG, and also provided attendees with valuable insights into significant regulatory developments and trends in Singapore and Hong Kong, China, US, UK and EU. The speakers explored how Large Language Models (LLMs) are transforming the AI landscape, enabling efficient automation and advanced analytics, with depiction of use cases in the financial industry and how the adoption of AI technologies has streamlined workflows, power real-time decision-making tools, and integrate with legacy systems.
The keynote address by Mr Teo Kok Ming, Executive Director, Capital Markets Group, Investment Intermediaries Department at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, covered key points such as the importance of collaboration with different stakeholders, the risks that comes from the opportunities of using artificial intelligence, as well as the regulatory approach by MAS to address the environmental and climate related risks that asset management industry faces.

IMAS successfully hosted the 9th Regulatory Forum as an in-person event at Fullerton Fund Management’s office, with a full house of close to 100 participants. This year’s Forum reviewed the key regulatory changes and latest trends taking shape in Asia and Europe, and discussed the impact of these evolving guidelines on the regulatory landscape. We had an extensive update on the Regulations & Developments in Asia, as well as the UK and Europe. The speakers shared on the regulatory changes and developments pertaining to their respective countries and regions, allowing participants to gain useful insights of these updates in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, China, UK and Europe. Participants were also provided with an overview of the current European regulations and developments focusing on ESG, as well as the current consultations from European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) and European Commission on funds names, greenwashing, market trends and main data points.
