IMAS convened a dialogue at SGX to examine the Equities Market Review Group (EQRG) initiatives and their role in strengthening Singapore’s equities market. The discussion considered how the S$5 billion Equity Market Development Programme, together with broader market measures, could deepen liquidity, broaden institutional participation and support sustained interest in small- and mid-cap companies. Panellists also explored the importance of stronger research coverage, earlier engagement with prospective issuers, disciplined corporate capital allocation, improved investor relations and a sharper focus on long-term shareholder value.
The session featured Eugene Leong of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Chan Kum Kong of SGX Group, Chang Qi Ong of J.P. Morgan Asset Management and Raghav Kapoor of SmartKarma. Moderated by Carmen Wee, CEO of IMAS, the programme included audience polls and an interactive Q&A.
