In our effort to assist investors make better informed decisions amid a broad range of investment products, IMAS commissioned the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics (“SKBI”) at the Singapore Management University in June 2013 to develop a framework that primarily quantifies both risk and complexity of investment products in the market. Through this framework, IMAS aims to promote understanding of inherent complexities and risks of investment products, develop a common language to facilitate comparison of product features, as well as provide a quick and easy-to-understand way to assist in financial decision-making.
In this Talk, researchers from SKBI will outline the risk-complexity framework and discuss how this framework can potentially be useful and implemented by fund management companies.
