IMAS Lunchtime Talk Series
MiFID II – What should Managers in Asia Be Doing?

The European Union will implement extensive enhancements to its existing Markets in Financial Instruments Directive regime (MiFID II) on 3 Jan 2018. While MiFID II is a European regulatory regime, it will introduce unprecedented reporting and conduct requirements on investment firms in the EU, including asset managers, broker-dealers, and distributors, and has global ramifications.

The new requirements will significantly impact the research, distribution and trading landscape in the EU, and due to its reach, will have knock-on effects on the global asset management industry, including here in Asia. Even Asian managers that are indirectly impacted may end up having to make significant changes to their policies and processes as the expectations of clients, brokers & distributors change. Join us for an interactive session during which you can learn about the key provisions under MiFID II, how they may impact you and the emerging best practices in Asia.
