RQFII was first introduced at the end of 2011 to allow qualified Hong Kong institutions to raise RMB funds in Hong Kong for investments in the PRC securities market. On 12 July 2013, the China Securities Regulatory Commission announced that (i) the RQFII pilot program will be expanded to Singapore, Taiwan and London; and (ii) the program in the expanded regions will be implemented by analogy to the current RQFII regime.
Accordingly, Singapore subsidiaries of PRC financial institutions and locally licensed Singapore asset managers may qualify to participate in the RQFII program when it is launched in Singapore.
This presentation will explore what this new regime may mean to you and for the Singapore market.
