Launched on 17 November 2014, the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect links up the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges, enabling mutual stock market access between Mainland China and Hong Kong. At this briefing, the Hong Kong China Asset Management Association (“HKCAMA”) will share how this pilot programme will impact Singapore fund management companies and address key considerations, including:

  • How does the RQFII programme complement the Stock Connect? What strategies have investors carried out under either or both schemes?
  • What are the short-term and long-term opportunities for investors via the Stock Connect?
  • What are some of the investors’ concerns regarding Stock Connect?
  • What are the expectations for the Shenzhen and Fixed Income Connect?
