The introduction of the Singapore Variable Capital Companies (“S-VACC”) has the potential of transforming Singapore’s fund vehicle landscape. Amongst fund managers, both local and global, this is one of the most awaited developments. The draft S-VACC legislation was first put forth for consultation by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) in March 2017. The S-VACC tax framework was introduced during the Singapore Budget 2018, with further details expected to be released by October 2018.
At this Lunchtime Talk, Ernst & Young will re-visit what they know about the S-VACC and what they expect to be announced in the months to follow. They will cover tax, regulatory and legal aspects that are critical to the success of the S-VACC.
