Technology innovations have helped financial institutions’ (FIs) to expand their business offerings and customer reach. Against the backdrop of an increased reliance on IT systems by FIs is the heightened risk of cyber attacks.
The MAS Technology Risk Management Guidelines which were issued in June 2013 aim to provide a comprehensive guidance on the establishment of sound technology risk management and security practices to address existing and emerging technology risks within the financial industry. The MAS has also issued a Notice which defines a set of legal requirements relating to technology risk management for FIs. FIs are required to maintain a high level of reliability, availability and recoverability of critical IT systems and implement IT controls to protect customer information from unauthorised access or disclosure.
Targeting at senior technology operations, and compliance professionals in our industry, this Talk aims to clarify understanding of these guidelines and notice.
