[GFIT Workshop] Introduction to Impact Investing

As a Strategic Partner to the Green Finance Industry Taskforce (GFIT) convened by the MAS, IMAS is pleased to invite you to our workshop titled “Introduction to Impact Investing”, taking place on 3 November 2021 (Wed), 3pm to 4pm (SGT). This is the 3rd workshop being held under the GFIT Capacity Building series for the fund management sector.

Synopsis

Impact investing is experiencing significant growth in recent years. The market for impact investments grew from US$502 billion in 2018 to US$715 billion in 2019, according to the Global Impact Investing Network. Join us in this workshop to gain a foundational understanding of impact investing, including the management and measurement of impact investments, and hear directly from our speakers who will share their experience with real-life case examples.

 

En Lee is a Managing Director and Head of Sustainable and Impact Investments in Asia at LGT, the world’s largest family-owned private banking and asset management group with over USD 260B in assets under management. He leads and manages the regional impact investment portfolio in Southeast Asia and China, serving on the boards of several portfolio organizations. En is a Partner of Lightrock, LGT’s global impact investing platform, and a member of LGT’s Global Sustainability Board. Prior to LGT, he was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs advising investment funds and previously a Corporate Solicitor at Freshfields specializing in private equity, M&A and capital market transactions.

 

A recognized industry pioneer, En is a member of the World Economic Forum ESG Advisory Group, Asia Investor Group on Climate Change, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore Sustainable Finance Working Group. He serves on the Advisory Committee of Triple P Financial Inclusion Fund and the Boards of UN Global Compact Singapore, Asian Venture Philanthropy Network and Leap201. En graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and is a CAIA Charterholder. He was selected as an Aspen Institute Finance Leaders Fellow and is a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network and the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Eliza joined Temasek in Singapore in July 2018 and is currently serving as Director, Impact Investing. By investing for impact, these investments help contribute towards shaping a better world. Eliza has experience as an impact investing, private equity and investment banking professional with firms including Armstrong Asset Management, Carlyle Asia Partners, Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs across various sectors and focusing in Asia. Her passion is in impact and sustainability investing and how to shape a better and more sustainable tomorrow.

 

Eliza has also been involved in various impact and sustainability working groups including MAS Green Finance Industry Taskforce and the Impact Taskforce Working Group. Eliza received her Master of Applied Finance from the University of Melbourne and Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University.
