2RSquared has developed a digital no-code AI assisted cloud-based front office SaaS solution ('LAB') targeting all professionals who are involved with developing, selling and managing investment products (e.g., the CIO office, discretionary portfolio managers, analysts, ESG teams, relationship managers, product specialists and index consumers etc.) at asset and wealth managers.

LAB can help an asset- / wealth manager to drive higher margins in its core business by empowering its personnel through LAB to adopt data driven digital approaches, and to generate new revenue growth through product differentiation.

Description of fintech solution

LAB is like an AI assisted specialist Tableau but

  1. designed to empower every day personnel at the asset- / wealth manager to solve a range of investment problems which they currently cannot solve themselves without referring back to specialists, e.g. :
    • ETFs / Self & Direct Indexing: Integrated data, research and production, substantially reducing time to market.
    • Alpha Innovation: Exponentially scale capability for portfolio manager / analyst to test 3rd party data sets for alpha generative qualities.
    • ESG Integration: Digitally connect ESG and portfolio management teams. Formalise ESG investment decision workflows and establish auditability.
    • Strategic- / Multi Asset Allocation: Strategic asset allocation management and hypothesis testing, and customisation at the individual level.
    • New product differentiation

  2. because it is digital, to operate with new models of co-operation; both internally and with external clients, for example integrating client engagement and product development:
    • Enable the product specialist (institutional) or relationship manager (retail) to digitally bring the client in to the investment design journey, and
    • Pre-/ post investment, enable the client to digitally analyse the investment independently in a flexible and interactive way.

Describe your key innovations

We have cut an enormous amount of complexity, friction and time to delivery from the front office technology stack, enabling a model for future profitability centred around digital customisation, enabling the industry to move from fund centric to customer centric.

Our technology rests on integrating three pillars:

  1. Asset management core: Integrated data management and best practice financial techniques.
  2. Distributed Calculation Engine: Proprietary, cloud native, dynamic scaling, graph based across all data manipulations resulting in unprecedented speed and interactivity.
  3. Intuitive User Interface: Complex financial concepts are made easy through a no-code drag and drop visual system that does not limit flexibility and is AI assisted.

The result is that ordinary asset -/ wealth management personnel are liberated to do what previously had to be done by quants, data scientist or technologists, not because of knowledge gaps but because of impossibility of access in legacy systems.

This enables the business to be more alpha and client focused.

Tell us more about your past client engagements to date and your market penetration?

In addition to our pre-loaded and generally available data sets, we have brought on a number of premium data vendor clients on to LAB and we will continue to increase this stable, both in terms of ESG data and other forms of premium data.
On the other side, our focus has been on providing custom or self indexing solutions to investment banks and through those investment bank's client portals, to their clients.

As the asset & wealth management space has increased it's requirements for clients tooling and digital personalisation, we are now engaging with the industry to provide these services.

A top 5 global investment bank, a leader in the field of equity delta one and QIS indices, has decided to try our technology rather than build in-house. The key features we provide are digital interactivity with the client, speed of results, built-in visualisations and a friendly user interface, with all the relevant data and financial techniques in place. Asset manager and wealth manager clients of the investment bank should be able to self structure dynamic indices which are the payoff of new issue structured notes in one seamless STP process. There is further significant traction for this use case.
