Human Capital Committee


Promoting and enhancing professional capabilities within the asset management industry and education of investing public remains at heart for the IMAS Human Capital Committee.


Previously known as the Education Committee, the Committee was renamed as the Human Capital Committee in 2020 to reflect its focus on initiatives that would help the industry upskill and reskill to meet challenges ahead, as well to enhance the education of the investing community in Singapore.

Albert is Head of Distribution Sales and Marketing for South Asia. Albert was most recently Head of Intermediary Business of Southeast Asia and Head of Malaysia & Thailand Businesses at Schroders. In this role, he was responsible for the distribution of mutual funds, including account management and development of sales and product strategies, in Southeast Asia.

Albert joined Schroders in 2003 as a member of the Mutual Funds Retail sales team for Singapore. He was appointed as Head of Intermediary Distribution, Singapore, in 2008 and assumed wider responsibilities as Head of Intermediary Business, Southeast Asia from 2010. He was also responsible for private banks business development in Asia from 2014 to 2017. Prior to joining Schroders, Albert spent 2 years at Barclays Capital in Singapore with the Foreign Exchange and Derivatives sales desk.

Albert holds a bachelor’s degree (first class honours) in Business from the Nanyang Technological University and a Master’s Degree in Finance from University of Manchester Institute of Information & Technology (UMIST) and Manchester Business School (MBS). He is also a CFA and CAIA Charterholder. Albert is an IBF Fellow since 2018 and Chairman of the IMAS Education Committee since 2012, starting out as a member since 2005.

Tay Kheng Guet is the Head of Human Resources for Asia Pacific at Aberdeen Standard Investments, responsible for developing strategy and managing human capital for the firm across 10 markets in the region.

She joined Aberdeen Asset Management in August 2013, which merged with Standard Life in 2017. Previously, she was Senior Director and Head of Human Resources at HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA. She has a wealth of experience in the financial as well as non-financial sector

Kheng Guet previously served as a representative of the IMAS Human Resources Working Group to provide industry feedback on the Tripartite Advisory on Human Capital Practices for Asset Management, and was part of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Working Group to identify gaps in existing training courses available and provide guidance to IMAS in the development of CPD training that are relevant to investment management professionals.

Sachin heads Business Development for Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company Pte Ltd.

Sachin has spent over 10 years with the Aditya Birla Group and is based in Singapore and is responsible for all business in the Asia Pacific region. Sachin is instrumental in building a business that has over USD 2.5 billion in assets and the Singapore office manages client monies from Singapore, Korea, Japan and Thailand today.

Sachin has a total experience of 16 years in Institutional Asset Management and Investment Advisory and brings enormous experience of investing into the India Capital Markets having earlier worked in fixed income trading and sales in India. He was head of the institutional business in India before he moved to Singapore in 2007 and was responsible for managing and advising the top institutions in India.

Karen oversees AllianceBernstein’s retail business for the Southeast Asia region and her primary focus is to work with financial intermediaries to facilitate their access to AllianceBernstein’s global asset management capabilities.

She is chartered to position and differentiate AllianceBernstein in the minds of clients & partners through an understanding of the Firm’s capabilities and local application of available solutions. She has complete oversight for the overall strategy and execution.

Karen holds NASD certification in Series 6 and graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University, Australia.

Davin has over 20 years’ experience from global retail banks and insurance companies. As Head of Life Partnership Distribution, he is responsible for leading Eastspring’s regional relationship with Prudential focusing on developing the strategy to grow revenue and AUM through the General Accounts and Investment Linked Products. He is also responsible to optimize and drive scalability of investment capabilities and resources across markets to achieve strategic alignment across markets.

Prior to Eastspring, Davin was the Head of Wealth Affiliate at Manulife Investment Management Singapore, where he developed and executed the strategy for Manulife’s Wealth proposition. From 2011 – 2017, Davin was the Head of Wealth, ANZ Retail & Private Wealth Singapore at ANZ where he was responsible for the strategic direction and distribution of investment, treasury and insurance products.

From 2007 - 2011, he was the Head of Investment Linked Product Management at Prudential, where he led the development and marketing of ILP products. He rejoined in 2018 – 2019 as the Head of Sales and Service Solutions, where he developed and monetized new partnerships from Bancassurance and private bank channels.

Davin also garnered sales experience as a branch manager in both UOB and DBS during 2004 – 2006.

Davin’s extensive experience in the ILP and Wealth business, and familiarity with the industry positions him well to value add in areas of sales distribution and product management.

Wildon leads a team responsible for developing the retail distribution business in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia encompassing product lines including mutual funds, ETF, private assets and customized solutions.

Wildon joined Fidelity in 2015 and has accumulated more than 15 years of experience working in the asset management industry and financial sector.

Before joining Fidelity, Wildon worked at BlackRock, where he was a member of the Retail Distribution team for Singapore. Prior to joining BlackRock, Wildon spent 6 years as a Relationship Manager at HSBC and Citibank where he was providing wealth management advice and solution to High-Net-Worth clients.

Wildon holds a Bachelor of Business Management from Singapore Management University.

Hur-Ming is a Managing Director and Head of Asia Business Development at Virtus Investment Partners, where he has overall responsibility for the firm’s regional distribution business.

Prior to joining Virtus, he was with Matthews Asia from 2018 and held appointments as the Head of Asia Distribution and Singapore CEO. Before that, he spent 5 years at Janus Henderson Investors as Director, Head of Wholesale Distribution and Global Financial Institutions (Asia).

He started his career at Deutsche Bank (DWS Investments) and subsequently became the Head of Retail Sales (Singapore) and Deputy Head of Intermediary Business (Southeast Asia). Hur-Ming graduated from Singapore Management University (SMU), with a Business Management degree (cum laude) and a Law major. He holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation and has 18 years of industry experience.

Additionally, she holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.

With renewed focus, the Committee will provide guidance to IMAS on promoting the upskilling and reskilling of the industry. This includes tapping on iLearn and promoting investor education with the launch of an educational gaming app and a revamped FundSingapore portal that will be more user-friendly and better serve the industry’s needs.
